It's no surprise that Daul Kim has great style. After watching those Youtube videos in my previous post I decided to do a little image search on her and this is what I came up with. I can see at least one piece in each of these outfits that I wouldn't mind stealing.

Just a little inspiration for the day. Stay warm!

For Comfort

Blazer: Theory, Tee: UO, Shorts: F21, Stockings: CVS, Boots: Payless

Now that I've been putting more thought into the textures of my outfits I though I should also play around with the proportions.

I've always like pairing a more voluminous top with a tighter bottom but sometimes it's nice to just wear everything loose and baggy. I know that it may not be the most 'flattering' type of outfit to wear if you're small like me, but I don't think every outfit has to follow the rules. For a lot of people 'flattering' = attractive to the opposite sex anyway.

Since my outfit was so comfortable I thought I would just work with that theme and wear my glasses.

On a side note:

Daul Kim is so adorable and really knows how to experiment with proportions. It's fun to see some of her outfits in motion too

p.s. Watch the 2nd part too she does a closet tour!

p.p.s. I want some black and white stripes like Daul

All about the texture

Jacket: H&M, Jacket: J.Jill, Shirt: ZARA, Leggings: Member's Only, Hat: H&M

Since most of the clothes in my closet are either black or some other neutral color I usually end up putting more emphasis on the textures in an outfit rather than the patterns or colors.

I am usually drawn to a combination of something shiny (like leather) with something softer (like fur or lace).

This jacket I found at a secondhand store gives me another texture to play around with. It's a soft fabric that has lots of folds and crinkles that makes it really fun to wear. I've already tried pairing it with a leather jacket and latex leggings (above pics). I might even try wearing it with a more voluminous texture (like fur) at some point.

On My Way

La Couturier

I'm currently packing my suitcase(s) to go back to school tomorrow (which is more than a little depressing).

I thought I would share this picture from La Couturier's blog which includes a little photo of me on the left. It makes me wish it was warm enough to dress like that right now. I think there should be a rule against having school while there's ice on the ground lol.
