Happy New Year

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Hat: vintage, Trench: Apostrophe, Dress: AA, Tights: UO, Boots: Payless

I'm back from my 'mini vacation' and thinking about the new year. Not too deeply though.

This outfit is another result of old pieces I found in my closet at home. The trench coat is actually from high school and I haven't worn it since then because I need to get it cleaned. I'm considering bringing it back to school with me if I have room in my suitcase.

I bought way too much with my birthday/holiday money this past week including:
-a black shaggy fur vest
-an asymmetrical gray jacket
-a leopard print fur collar
-some basic sweaters for layering
-a black sweater with gold pyramid studs

I hope you all have a great new year!

What I want to wear on my mini vacation...

Later this week my family is going on a bit of a mini vacation (while still staying fairly close to home). We'll be staying in a few different hotels over the week in different towns. Since we're not doing the "tropical winter vacation" thing I have to pack for the winter weather. That translates to: leather, fur, layers, leopard print, boots, and more layers.

p.s. Happy Chanukah!

Members Only

Hat: hatsinthebelfry, Jacket: H&M, Button-down: Zara, Skirt: Bailey, Boots: Payless

It is so cold in Connecticut but so good to be home.
This outfit is actually from a little while ago but I didn't get a chance to post it until today. I'm still trying to figure out where I can take pictures in my house lol

Today I went to good old Marshall's with my mom and bought some Members Only liquid leggings ($25) and Betsey Johnson lace tights($5). The leggings are really too long for me but I'll just have to wear them scrunched up a little.

p.s. Apparently my bf was on the t.v. in Times Square today wearing his Marines uniform and saluting the flag during the pledge. Awwww.

Holiday Dressing

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Top: vintage, Button-down: Limited, Skirt: Bailey 44, Stockings: CVS

Now that finals are done I can get back into the habit of updating my blog. The only bad thing about being home is that I don't have too many empty spaces to take pictures (but I'll figure it out).

The holidays are upon us which of course means dressing up!
Whenever I am obligated to dress up I usually find myself going for a more feminine look than I wear on a regular basis. Probably because I feel like easy dressing up = dress or skirt.
This outfit is an example of what I might be wearing for Christmas dinner at a family friend's house (even though I don't celebrate Christmas lol)

BUT considering how cold it's getting I'll probably end up wearing something furry + leather:

Since I have nothing exciting to share I will leave you with 6 unimportant things that make me happy.

Skinny Leather

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Beanie: H&M, Jacket: H&M, Shirt: Marshall's, Top: Bailey 44, Stockings: CVS, Boots: Payless

This is the leather jacket I picked up at H&M over Thanksgiving break. I like it because it has longer skinnier sleeves than my other ones and fits better in the shoulder. I've been wearing it every day this week but I can tell I'm going to have to upgrade to something thicker soon. I'll probably just wear it under my black faux-fur...

A few random things:

I wouldn't mind if my closet looked like this

I love macaroons

I'd like a leather vest with a big collar like this to keep me warm

Hat: H&M, Jacket: H&M, Top: Bailey 44, Sweater: F21, Stockings: CVS, Boots: Payless

As promised, here are the pics of my new faux-fur jacket from H&M. It's really warm and soft so I'd definitely recommend it if anyone is looking for one. I have to say, it's really great finding something that I've been wanting for such a long time.
I know this isn't the most exciting outfit, but I really just wanted to wear the jacket with things that wouldn't clash too much with the furriness.

Also, I was tagged by Miranda a little while ago, so here it is:

Black Friday

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Jacket: vintage, Shirt: AA, Sweater: F21, "Skirt": Bailey 44, Boots: Guess?

This is an older picture from when I was doing a little maxi-skirt experimenting. This is actually a top being worn as a skirt so I'm still looking for the real thing.

Anyway, I did some black friday shopping today. I bought:

1) Black faux-fur jacket (Finally!)

2) Another black leather jacket (skinnier sleeves = better)

Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving (if applicable) :)

Beanie: H&M, Top: Issey Miyaki, Tee: Hanes, Leggings: AA, Boots: Guess, Ring: UO

It's nothing expensive or unique but I finally found a ring that fits me (which is surprisingly harder than it should be) at UO. It's a snake ring and looks like this one from the website,

Except bigger and more textured.

Also, Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I have one more class tomorrow and then it's home for the week.

Ripped Up

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Scarf: UO, Sweater: F21, Jacket: vintage, Jeans: Delia's, Boots: Payless

It's amazing how something as simple as cutting two slits into these jeans at the knees has made me want to wear them more than I have since I first bought them. I guess its the same thing with sheer stockings and t-shirts. This season, everything is better when it's a little ripped up.

Irina likes holes in her jeans too:

One day I want to be able to pull off the Givenchy chains like Lou:

p.s. I finally bought a new ring!

I just received the "I Love Your Blog" Award from Miss Melissa of the awesome blog Amarillo. Firstly, thank you for the mention next to all these amazing bloggers Melissa!

Secondly, I'd like to spread the love so I'll mention three of my "can't live without" blogs:

Everybody Is Ugly

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Jacket: vintage, Shawl: vintage, Tank: AA, Sweater: F21, Leggings: UO, Boots: Payless

Scarf: UO, Tank: AA, Sweater: F21, Pants: ZARA, Boots: Payless
It's definitely gotten to that time of the year when I have to wear 4+ layers on a daily basis. Unfortunately, this also makes my style much more homogeneous because of the lack of pieces I like to layer together. You'll notice a lot of repeat pieces (like in the outfits above).

I need some chic winter style inspiration....
or maybe just a really warm coat.

A Little DC

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Beanie: H&M, Jacket: vintage, Top: Bailey 44, Pants: Zara, Boots: Payless

Yes the infamous D.C. (dropped crotch) pants, as made popular in the blogging world by miss Lulu and in the mainstream by YSL etc.

I bought these pants a while ago but haven't had much motivation to wear them because I find leggings to be more flattering/warm. Recently though I've been wanting a change in silhouette (hence the previous mention of a black maxi skirt) and decided to pull out these pants as a sort of in between stage to hold me over until I can find the skirt.

I'd actually wear these more if they were in the right size and were tighter in the lower leg...Guess I'll just have to wait until H&M starts selling a kids' version.

A few ideas:
