The Ball

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Dress: Calvin Klein

Last weekend I went the the Marine Corps Ball on Ellis Island with my boyfriend. I know I never mentioned it but I actually didn't know I was going until earlier that week (which made finding a dress a little stressful). It was definitely a memorable time and even though it meant a lot more traveling and a lot less sleep I'm glad I went.

Here are a few hotel outfit pictures I took when we came back to the hotel after the dinner to change. I didn't pull out my camera much that night but I'll update if I find some more pictures floating around somewhere.

About the dress; I ended up renting it from RentTheRunway since I had very little time to find a dress that was "black tie or ball gown". I'm pretty impressed with how simple the process is especially if you're in new york.

p.s. I just placed an order at Apothica.com that I'm pretty excited about and I wanted to share the friends&family 25% off discount code with you guys. Just enter FF25 at checkout. They also have an awesome selection of skincare at SkincareRx.com and they carry a huge variety of brands (skinmedica, chanel, skinceuticals, shiseido, etc.) Check it out before it expires on 12/1!

It's the back of the dress that really, really makes the outfit. It's so chic and simple and--seemingly--conservative, then! at the back, it opens up with a whole lot of allure. I love the belt that cinches it together.

Amazing choice, S!
