The New Museum
Yes it's been a while and I know it's not even worth mentioning at this point since I so regularly abandon this blog for a month at a time. I blame it on the fact that I moved a few weeks ago and I'm still not even completely unpacked.
I went to The New Museum of Contemporary Art today. The weather was perfect for just wandering around outside and taking in a nice view of the city. One of my favorite ways to spend a Sunday.
p.s. It's hard to tell but yes I cut my hair.

Cost Per Wear
Top: Theyskens' Theory, Jeans: Siwy, Bag: Alexander Wang, Boots: Rag & Bone
I've been wearing this top almost nonstop since I bought it a few weeks ago.
I love when I find something that is exactly what I want to wear right now and also just happens to be on sale.

Sleeveless
Sleeveless blouse: Barney's, Jeans: J Brand, Boots: Ksubi, Bag: Alexander Wang "Donna"
I feel so unprepared for this ninety degree weather we've been having. I feel like I have this problem every summer, but I can't help being surprised at how few short sleeve/sleeveless tops I own.

Outfit Experiment
I've always liked putting outfits together on Polyvore. Maybe I'll post these collages more often now that I know how hard it is to take outfit pictures during the week :)

Shopping Small
Lately I’ve been finding myself gravitating towards less mainstream brands and stores whenever I feel the need to go shopping. Whether it’s in store or online I really appreciate having a mix of high end and local designer clothes to choose from rather than the usual chain store brands.
Even when I’m in the mood to just window shop I would rather wander around a neighborhood like Williamsburg and find random boutiques than go to H&M or Zara in a mall. Maybe this has something to do with the fact that I’ve been making an effort to save up for classic investment pieces and then building up the rest of my wardrobe with vintage/independent designers. And let's face it, nobody wants to have the exact same items in their closet as the girl next to them.
Since I enjoy online shopping as much as the next twenty-something girl; I want to share with you guys a contest being held on www.facbook.com/meintocom. The prize is a $1000 giftcard to meinto.com.
All you have to do to enter is like mento.com on facebook and submit a short video response saying why you should win. The deadline to enter is March 12.
For details just go to http://www.facebook.com/

Olive Green
Jacket: Theory, Sweater: UO, Jeans: seven, Boots: Rachel Comey
I've been wanting a pair of Rachel Comey boots after repeatedly seeing them on the blog Blushing Ambition and I finally found a pair on sale. I highly recommend this style if you're considering getting a pair. They are super comfortable and well made.
Over the weekend I went to Williamsburg and picked up this Theory jacket ($40), a Rachel Comey cardigan ($30), and my favorite buy of the day...a pair of fleece lined leggings ($7). I love getting a good deal secondhand.

Amber Diamond
I was in the need for some retail therapy this weekend, so I picked up this Dior highlighting powder I've been wanting for a few years now. I could never really justify spending so much on a product that's not "essential", but I finally caved today since I had an unused gift card from my birthday last month.
It's funny how sometimes all it takes is something sparkly and pretty to lift your mood.

Leather Sleeves
Jacket: Maison Scotch, Sweater: UO, Jeans: sevenforallmankind, Boots: Acne
I'm glad I waited for the recent online sales because I found a new favorite jacket. I love the military style body mixed with the black leather sleeves. It's not a huge departure from the typical blazer but I like how it's just a bit more casual and worn in looking. I'm also a huge fan of olive mixed with black this winter.
